Dr. Michael Tyler is a board-certified urologist who joined Z Urology in 2017. With his extensive training and expertise in urologic oncology and robotic-assisted surgery, Dr. Tyler has established himself as one of the leading urologists in South Florida, known primarily for his skill in minimally invasive procedures and comprehensive prostate care.
Dr. Michael Tyler has been practicing medicine for over a decade and is board-certified in urology.
He graduated summa cum laude from State University of New York (SUNY) Albany with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Tyler then earned his medical degree from New York University (NYU) School of Medicine, where he first discovered his passion for urology.
Dr. Tyler completed his urology residency at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, New York. He further specialized in urologic oncology through a clinical fellowship under the renowned robotic surgeon, Dr. Timothy Wilson, at the John Wayne Cancer Institute (JWCI) in Santa Monica, California.

Since joining Z Urology, Dr. Tyler has performed more than 500 robotic surgeries, becoming one of the highest-volume robotic urology surgeons in Broward County!
Dr. Tyler is an active member of the American Urological Association (AUA) and remains committed to bringing the latest trends in urologic cancer management to his patients. During his fellowship, he co-authored a textbook chapter on robotic-assisted surgery and was involved in cutting-edge translational prostate cancer research at the JWCI.
Dr. Tyler takes pride in offering same-day, outpatient surgical options with very low complication rates, contributing to his exceptional track record of patient care. He is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized treatment to each of his patients.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Tyler is a devoted family man, cherishing his roles as a husband to his wife Erika and father to his two young children. He actively volunteers and coaches in various youth recreational and travel sports programs in the area. An avid New York sports fan, Dr. Tyler enjoys playing basketball and golf in his free time. Friendly staff, extremely confident Dr. Michael Tyler. Amazing so far and I haven’t even had my surgery yet. I only wish I was referred to him a few years ago as I probably would not have had to be getting a Third surgery on the exact same kidney stone.
